Good evening all!
What an eventful day it has been for The Shippey Campaign!
We were kindly invited to this years CAFE (Centre for Access to Football In Europe) conference by Joyce Cook OBE, which is taking place in Paris, at the Stade de France.
After arriving this morning and settling down for an extremely informative day, we have come away this evening with a much increased knowledge of other disabilities, the struggles that others deal with in a match environment and a lovely group of new friends from around the globe!
Not only did we have our own slot on stage to explain about The Shippey Campaign, but we learned about a new pledge, struggles that challenge those fans who are deaf, people who suffer from dementia and those who struggle with football matches due to colourblindness! And that’s just to name a few.
I have always said that if you care for someone with additional needs, you join an elite club. It’s a club where we all understand what each other are going through, and together, we can make a difference. Today, the conference has shown just that. Together we can make a change!
