Happy New Year to you all from The Shippey Campaign, we hope you’ve had a positive start to 2019!
The excitement built for the game at Sunderland AFC, who welcomed Luton Town yesterday and Nathan looked forward to watching his first match of 2019!
What a turn out for both of the Sensory Rooms at Sunderland there was! A lovely mix of familiar faces with some retuning visitors and some new friends to meet. Box 1 was at capacity with 12 users. The Nathan Shippey Sensory Room was also busy with the wheelchair gantry full too! Nathan thoroughly enjoyed a trip along to visit the room he loves so much and had a lovely chat to Micky Horsewill and kept him company while watching the game for a little while there.
It is so wonderful to see so many people benefitting from our sensory rooms in stadia now. All with huge smiles on their faces and relaxed parents too!
It was nice to take a moment to reflect on our aims at the start of our campaign back in 2014 and to feel such pride in continuing, often through some very tough times, to make sure that those families affected by sensory difficulties are not left out of such a brilliant family day.
Going forward, we have lots of rooms in progress including Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea, Aston Villa, West Ham and Celtic! So, we are starting the new year…our 5th year of campaigning…with a brilliant start and lots to look forward too!
You’re doing such an amazing thing 🤗 Any news on a sensory room for Manchester United yet?🤞🏻
